Life and learning

Writing workshop

Today, we went out of class for the day with William Gallagher, a talented writer and author. We were chosen as two of the best writers in year 5. Many other groups of students from different schools across Lincoln joined us and we had fun writing all day long. We experienced writing scripts, stories and news articles and got to make friends. Overall, we all loved doing it and would love to do it again.

First Aid lesson

When we are injured or suddenly unwell, what we want and need is someone to help us – someone who knows what to do. First aid is all about helping people in situations like this.

Today we took part in the St John’s Ambulance first Aid live lesson. We have learnt about what first aid is, why it is important and how to help people and the key steps to go through in different situations, such as if they have seizure, choke or an insect bite.

What key skills did you learn today?

Why is first aid important?

Mr Keogh, the head teacher of St Peter and St Paul Secondary School, has visited Yr5 this week to talk about the school.

He has been asked by some pupils and parents about transport arrangements to and from the school and would like to let you know that there is a possibility of transport being arranged for students wishing to attend the school – please make direct contact with him if you are interested in this offer.
