2Control NXT

We had great fun using the Lego to create our own fairground rides with 2control NXT.

We programmed our instructions, thinking carefully about the inputs and outputs, so that our circuits changed in response to a touch sensor.

Reversible and irreversible changes

We have been exploring reversible and irreversible changes. There was a lot of indepth discussion about the effect of heat and what it can do to change materials. We were able to identify when a material can change state and be returned to its starting state.

Book Fair competition

Our bookfair will be back in school during the last week of term. It will run from Tues 9th-Thurs 11th February.

The competition this term is to design a book mark which shows your love of reading. The criteria are:

High quality presentation
Original ideas
A clear ‘love reading’ theme.

The deadline for entries is Friday 5th February. The winner will receive a £5 voucher to spend at the book fair.

Homework due 25th January

In addition to spellings, literacy and maths homework, we will be focusing on one times table a week. This week it has been 3s. Impress your family and friends with your quick recall of 3 time table facts. Parents, why not fire some quick 3 times table questions at them to keep them on their toes?

Amazing volcanoes

Yesterday we started making our brilliant volcanoes and today we will be painting them. We have used bottles as our base so that we can make them erupt once we are finished!
